An Integrated System for Simultaneous Bid Preparation

Ziel

The objective of BIDPREP is to improve bid preparation for engineering tenders by providing on-line, transparent access to bid-related information such as product properties, manufacturing capacity, cost/price estimation, strategic risks and winning criteria. It will focus on the needs of SMASH who make or assemble complex products to order.

The approach will be to:

- define a methodology to describe advanced bid preparation in terms of roles and interactions
- define a reference architecture for a full-scale bid preparation system
- develop a general prototype which implements the major functions of the defined reference system and then customize the prototype according to the needs of the industrial partners.

Special emphasis will be placed on the interaction of principal methods, users and the supporting system, and on the reuse of data and knowledge.

Pilot demonstration and evaluation are foreseen at the industrial sites of at least two user partners. Products based on the results will be marketed by vendor consortium members.
