Project description
ICT for environmental services and climate change adaptation
The project "Solution engineering and Services for Measuring, Monitoring, and Management of Organizations' Environmental Performance Indicators" (OEPI) is about the design and development of a software solution resulting in a Single Space of accessible Environmental Performance Indicators (EPIs) that are grounded in a semantic standardization concept. The standard for EPIs and the suite of tools could provide any organization with information regarding the current impact on the environment by its processes/operations. OEPI aims to provide any organization access to services and tools for integrated, cross-organizational Environmental Performance Management. Oepi in Swiss German stands for the "grandfather". In that sense the project aims to result in an oepi ("grandfather" in Swiss German) of EPIs services and tools that give access via multiple consumption channels: mobile devices, internet access, ERP integration, and web services serve the need to be aware of the environmental impact of business or regulatory decision. The project provides a proof-of-concept and proof-of-implementation in real-world settings throughout European organizations and assesses the impact on corporate social responsibility related topics and further strategic decisions.
