Objective
There is considerable demand from industry – both from the asparagus industry and the food retail trade – for the development of new and innovative solutions allowing a gentle, automatic harvesting of asparagus. To meet the requirements, the aim of AutoSpar is the development of a continuous, fully automatic harvesting system for white and violet asparagus. This requires three major new innovative developments: • an asparagus detection system, • a cutting and lifting tools • a motion controlled system
