Objective
The European Academy of Bozen/Bolzano (EURAC), the Free university of Bolzano (FUB) and Techno Innovation South Tyrol (TIS) will jointly organise the Researchers' night 2010 “Long Night of Scientific Research” in Bolzano on September 24, 2010. The project mainly aims at enhancing public recognition of researchers and their work, showing their human face to the public at large, regardless of age or scientific background.
As such, it will offer a varied and broad programme of activities addressing both children, teenagers, families, teachers, elderly…and based on a balanced combination n of un and researcher-science linked activities.
The activities will take place in the partners' premises, i.e. close to the city centre for two of them and the industrial area in the south of Bolzano for the third one (TIS).They will be implemented with support of industrial and public bodies selected on the basis of an open call by the project's participants:
o Bolzano local authority: central square events;
o Private companies in the industrial area: guided tours.
Events will take place in easily reachable areas (free shuttle or public means), with students guiding the visitors and coordinating the shuttle; activities will notably include:
o Interactive games;
o Workshops;
o Hands on experiments;
o Lectures
o Exchanges with researchers;
o Demos and science shows…
o Joint competition with EU funded Trento project…
o Illustration of research results and of the European dimension of the event…
Activities will last as from 5 p.m. until late in the night.
