UPM - Marie Curie International Mobility Programme

Objective

The dramatic evolution in technology development where science-driven engineering is taking more and more importance is motivating a deep change in the mentality of engineering schools. The role of multidisciplinarity, and the need to increase staff mobility is becoming another driving force in the composition of research groups. UPM is aware of the huge importance that human resources will have for its future. Then, as a consequence, UPM has created a set of internal programmes to recruit researchers and to promote mobility in order to facilitate this evolution and this proposal is to complement its existing programme. UNITE have the following four general objectives: 1. To complement the policy measures implemented by UPM to facilitate the recruitment and mobility of experienced researchers 2. To increase the internationalization of researchers of the UPM by facilitating their mobility to/from other countries 3. To open new permanent positions to senior researchers from other countries 4. To establish a professional research career in UPM offering tenure-track positions for research and technological staff, based on COFUND and on the draft of the Spanish “Law of Science”, and linked to the labour market of European researchers. To aid the fulfillment of the objectives proposed above all types of mobility offered by COFUND has been included in the UNITE proposal. The schemes are foreseen to incorporate a maximum of 19 experienced researchers and will be advertised in three separate calls as follows: 1. Call 1: 3 senior researchers: incoming - re-integration fellowships 2. Call 2: 3 experienced researchers: outgoing fellowships 3. Call 3: 13 experienced researchers: incoming - re-integration fellowships

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.
