VIPER: Intelligence Push in the Enterprise Realm

Project description

Internet of Services, Software & virtualisation

The main objective of VIPER is to build an open, scalable and dependable service platform. The target of the VIPER platform is to enable the construction of novel large-scale distributed services on the Internet. In order to achieve this goal, VIPER will allow for dynamic composition of reusable services deployed in a mix of private and public infrastructures (creating services in such mixed infrastructures is of interest for 41% of companies) taking full advantage of the on demand model, i.e. of private and public elastic clouds. VIPER will solve the public and private cloud compatibility problems, ensuring the interoperability between different service platforms. The specific research challenges associated with VIPER are: discovery, composition and enabling of distributed data sources, preservation of user data privacy, dependability, as well as guaranteeing service level agreements.
