Objective
Since 1951, Nobel Laureates meet in Lindau during the summer for a week of open-minded exchange, exploration of new horizons and connecting to the world’s most promising young academic researchers.
In 2010, the 60th Nobel Laureate Meeting will take place from June 27th to July 2nd at Lake Constance, bringing together Laureates and Best Talents from all disciplines in natural sciences. This 3rd Interdisciplinary Meeting (after 2000 and 2005) will connect, inspire and educate almost 70 Laureates and over 650 young researchers.
Based on a globally unique approach, this international forum of excellence perfectly embodies the four goals of the 7th Framework Programme:
• To gain leadership in key scientific and technology areas
• To stimulate the creativity and excellence of European research
• To develop and strengthen the human potential of European research
• To enhance research and innovation capacity throughout Europe
In combination with its outreach activities such as the exhibition on the Isle of Mainau “Discoveries: Energy”, focusing on the topics of environment and sustainability, the Tiny Tots Center and the Mediatheque with scientific lectures from six generations, the Lindau meetings serve as one of the most successful brain gain initiatives for Europe.
