Objective
Under this proposal PACE GmbH will develop the required functionality using its leading knowledge-based engineering platform Pacelab Suite and the add-on module Pacelab APD for conceptual aircraft design. Both tools are well-established, industrialised products that offer an excellent basis for extension to consider novel, more electric architectures, and specifically the modelling of avionic and on-board general systems and their impact on the overall aircraft design. The resulting tool set will allow the ITD leaders to modell the system architectures in a graphic-interactive manner. Through the integration with Pacelab APD it will be possible to assess the impact on mass, center of gravity, power demand and cost. User-definable flight phases and failure modes will allow identification of the sizing conditions for the system components, the power plant and the overall aircraft structure. PACE GmbH is an SME that develops Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) software solutions to the aerospace, automotive and transportation industries which enable its customers to better predict and plan the feasibility, performance as well as the economic and ecological viability of their products. PACE GmbH offers world-class IT technology in combination with excellent engineering skills that allow supporting its customers throughout the entire solution development process, from specification and development to maintenance and support. This proposal comprises twentythree (23) man months of development, project management and documentation, and fits into the overall budgetary frame of the project. The requirements as laid out in the Topic Description are fully met. Under the Implementation Agreement, PACE will supply the ITD leaders with licenses for the commercial products used as a basis (“Background IP”) at favourable conditions. The results generated through the project work (“Foreground IP”) will be furnished to the ITD leaders at no cost for the duration of the GRA project.
