Objective

"BRAIN (Be in contact with Research And its Institutions Network for a night) is a project proposed by the “Associazione Frascati Scienza” to reach the specific objective of bringing researchers closer to the public at large through the organization and holding of the 2011 Researchers’ Night to be held on Friday, 23 September 2011 in the Frascati area and in others research centers located in central Italy: the research centers of the main Italian institutions (ASI, CNR, ENEA, ESA-ESRIN, INFN, INGV and INAF) located in the south of Rome area; the three Universities of Rome (La Sapienza, Tor Vergata and Roma 3); the research centers in L’Aquila (LNGS-INFN), in Napoli (INGV, TELETHON Foundation), in Pisa (EGO VIRGO – INFN) and in Teramo (Galileum Museum – INFN); in the Frascati and Grottaferrata cities. The coordinator has a long and soundly experience in managing the Researchers’ Night, it has successfully organized the initiative since 2006. The main idea governing BRAIN is to show that researchers are human beings , and furthermore that European researchers are human beings and all belong to one big research family integrated in the European society. The project is articulated in harmonically and well-equilibrated informal, pleasant, enjoyable and attractive activities alternating to those linked with science. Several edutainment activities and events addressed to the public at large will be organized with researchers being actively involved and directly in contact with the visitors in order to: promote the European dimension of researchers, valorize the job researcher, enhance researchers integration, reinforce the links between researchers and citizens and promote scientific careers among young. The event concepts are to: promote the aggregation process of the Frascati Scienza with the main Local, National, European and Internationals key actors/stakeholders of research and other activities fields, promote the outreach of the event to young people"
