Science Revealed!

Objective

"With the “Science Revealed!” (SR) project, the Research Promotion Foundation with the collaboration of all the major research institutions aim to organise a successful Researchers’ Night event in Cyprus. The objectives of the event are to contribute: (1) towards the public recognition of researchers, and (2) towards developing a positive attitude of the younger generations regarding the researchers’ profession and its contribution to society. The objectives will be accomplished by reaching a large number of people through a suitable awareness campaign in order to convey the messages of this initiative and by attracting them to an event where they will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the researchers in person, in an educational yet light-hearted and joyful environment, on a Friday evening. The event will be organised in Nicosia at the Famagusta Gate. The programme of the event will consist of several activities, both entertaining and educational, mainly related to popular trends and combining a line of themes such as culture, art, theatre and music with science. The activities include a hands-on exhibition with interactive experiments, “Met and Greet” session, a Science Communication Competition (The Science-Factor) within high school and university students, a “Superheroes Uncovered” workshop to explain through simple interactive/presentations Superheeroes’ super powers and a Theatre/Musical related to mathematics."
