CO-FUNDED Brain Circulation 3

Project description

Advancing research mobility and collaboration in Turkey

Research initiatives play a crucial role in advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration across various disciplines. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the CoCirculation3 project aims to recruit researchers to academic and non-academic institutions in the Turkish research area. Aligned with broader European research goals, the project focuses on green deal initiatives and plans to recruit 100 postdoctoral researchers through three calls. CoCirculation3 also emphasises entrepreneurship through industry academia partnerships and career development through a mentor system. CoCirculation3 is a mobility and integration programme, allowing talented researchers to freely select their research topics, hosts and supervisors.

Objective

CoCirculation3 is a flagship programme for the recruitment of researchers to academic and non-academic hosting institutions inTurkish Research Area, which is an integral part of European Research Area. Within the framework of CoCirculation3 a total of 100 postdoctoral researchers will be recruited through 3 calls for maximum of 24 months in 5 years. CoCirculation3 is individually driven mobility program and TÜBİTAK assures that the applicants will be able to freely choose a research topic (which will have a Green Deal aspect) host and supervisor fitting their individual needs. The researchers are expected to conduct research on the Scientific Priorities adopted and announced by TÜBİTAK that are compatible with European Green Deal. In order to increase the participation of host institutions from the non-academic sector TÜBİTAK intends to add S&E Panel, next to Standard Panel. The unique value propositions of CoCirc3 are rooted to its focus to enhancing the participation of non-academic sector; the brand new allowance defined as Entrepreneurship Allowance to enhance the entrepreneurial initiatives of the PostDoc Fellows and creating an eco-system for Industry-Academia Partnerships; the outstanding approach in enhancing the career development of the postdoc fellows through
Mentor-Mentee Mechanism; creating a community of Alumni in TRA. The implementing partners are mobilized who will recruit the researchers as hosting institutions. Those implementing partners will also have the flexibility to host secondments and Non-academic Placements.Turkish and European Research Area as a whole will benefit from the contribution of the CoCirculation3 fellows to the research landscape. TÜBİTAK will contribute 39% of the total budget while European Commission is requested to co-fund 61%. CoCirculation3, with a specific focus to Green Deal will enhance the excellence of research in TRA through the mobility and integration of talented researchers.
