Objective
CONNECT-CARE will develop a comprehensive implementation framework to accelerate the validation, adoption, and scaling of digital health technologies (DHTs) in primary and community care across Europe. This will be achieved by designing and co-creating a harmonized living lab methodology specifically tailored to the clinical, regulatory, and user requirements of DHTs, enabling standardized and replicable real-world testing environments. The project will engage diverse digital health innovation ecosystems across eight regions from seven countries by fostering inclusive collaboration among stakeholders from industry, academia, healthcare providers, public authorities, and civil society.
CONNECT-CARE will produce a five-year Joint Action Plan that defines strategic objectives, governance models, co-investment mechanisms, and measurable key performance indicators. Connected regional implementation roadmaps will provide tailored pathways for operationalizing common innovation agendas in each partner region, reflecting their specific capacities and contexts. To implement the plan, the project will launch a centralized Coordination Hub to facilitate methodological harmonization, resource sharing, and cross-regional collaboration and initate regional modular Living Labs in seven regions.
This integrated approach will create more efficient, interconnected, and inclusive innovation ecosystems, reducing fragmentation and accelerating the green and digital transitions in healthcare. By supporting scalability and transferability of validated DHTs, CONNECT-CARE will contribute directly to the objectives of the Work Programme, fostering competitive, sustainable digital health markets and improving access to quality care across European regions.
