Gender Equality Network to Develop ERA Communities To activate Inclusive policy coordinatiON with Practical Learning for Uptake and Sustainability 2027

Objective

Building on GENDERACTION and GENDERACTIONplus, GENDERACTIONplus2027 supports the ERA Structural Policy “Strengthening inclusive gender equality in the ERA, notably with an intersectional approach”. Delivered by an experienced consortium and 29 Associated Partners, it runs a Community of Practice with two circles: National Authorities (11 Member States, 1 Associated Country) and Research and Innovation Funding Organisations (12 Member States, 3 Associated Countries). The action pursues three impact objectives: (i) provide access to open, policy-relevant resources; (ii) equip stakeholders with practical capability to design, implement, monitor and evaluate inclusive gender equality across uneven contexts; and (iii) promote shared standards and coordinated uptake by mainstreaming inclusive gender equality into at least three other ERA priorities. Through trusted peer exchange, mentoring and mutual learning in the Community of Practice, the project will translate implementation challenges into co-created, user-tested, openly accessible tools and guidance. In close cooperation with the ERA Forum Sub-group on Inclusive Gender Equality and relevant ERA policy owners, it will deliver by end-2027: (1) intersectionality guidance for R&I policy with feasible recommended indicators; (2) a flexible monitoring and evaluation approach to support inclusive Gender Equality Plan implementation; and (3) periodic syntheses of the Structural Policy implementation supported by a Project Data Dashboard. Designed for uneven starting points and increasing gender equality policy contestation, it combines co-creation and policy monitoring, a single entry point toolkit, and targeted outreach to extend coverage beyond the Community of Practice. A minimum sustainability model will ensure continued access to core outputs and support continuity of coordination and monitoring in line with ERA governance and policy evolution beyond the grant.
