An AI-Powered Visual Assistive Design IoT Pathway Platform to implement fast and optimal automated patient pathways and healthcare demand planning projects

Project description

Implementing fast and optimal automated patient pathways

Waiting lists have surpassed all records to date. Even though the pandemic is much more under control hospitals now have to change track from COVID care/vaccination mode to achieve maximum care capacity, despite having exhausted staff. For this reason, it is vital that hospitals have the means to rapidly streamline seamless care pathways and quickly plan elective care activity, while optimising capacity of the key units in the hospital, with the surgical block or the emergency department amongst the most important ones. Thus, PATHMAKER aims to design a tool that will enable the fast deployment of real time patient flow projects, which are very important to have an optimal management of key hospital units.

Objective

MYSPHERA has rolled out a game changing IoT location solution to track and manage patient pathways in real time. It automates the surgical process by means of tailored applications that empower staff with live patient-flow data and notifications. As a result, the solution has obtained references in several EU countries that note a significant capacity increase.
Deploying this solution takes few months of co-design work with the hospital, which limits its scale-up potential. We aim to reduce the effort and time by an order of magnitude, falling from months to just a few days. An AI-Powered Visual Assistive Design IoT Pathway Platform based on Spatial Process Mining and Machine Learning technologies has been prototyped to complete this radical leap by streamlining the design, tailoring and deployment of optimal pathways and elective care planning projects, for any hospital, unit, and in a matter of days.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
