Support to the coordination of national research and innovation programmes in areas of activities of the European Energy Research Alliance

Project description

New tool contributes to transition to low carbon economy

Strong European cooperation in research and innovation is necessary to realise the objectives of the SET-Plan in the broader perspective of the Clean Energy Transition. Since the SET-Plan is clustered to a large extent along technologies and does not provide a formal mechanism for using cross-cutting and interdisciplinary research capacities, the EU-funded SUPEERA project will improve the exchange of information between the different actors involved and foster joint actions. SUPEERA will also foster a stronger engagement of the EU-13 countries. It will help to accelerate the uptake of new technologies by industry and examine the impact EU policies to allow for better policymaking. SUPEERA will be supported by five of its member organisations (as LTP): CEA, DTU, KIT, SINTEF, VTT.

Objective

The SUPEERA project supports the implementation of the SET-Plan. Since the SET-Plan does not yet have a mechanism for using cross-cutting research capacities or pooling interdisciplinary activities, SUPEERA will improve the exchange of information between the Implementation Working Groups and make recommendations for joint actions. SUPEERA will also help to accelerate the uptake of new technologies by industry and to examine the impact of EU policies in the view of bringing the SET-Plan forward in the broader context of the Clean Energy Transition.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
