[RESULT IN BRIEF] Lakes as environmental sensors
European researchers have discovered that remote mountain lakes can be monitored so as to observe the environmental changes that have occurred in the past and how these changes will affect the future. In fact, remote lakes exhibit an intense sensitivity towards pollution and climatic changes and it is this characteristic that makes them acute environmental sensors and predictors.

Les lacs utilisés comme capteurs environnementaux
Des chercheurs européens ont découvert que le contrôle des lacs de montagne isolés permet de prendre connaissance des modifications environnementales intervenues dans le passé et de prévoir leur impact dans l'avenir. En fait, les lacs isolés sont extrêmement sensibles à la pollution et aux modifications climatiques. Cette particularité fait d'eux des capteurs environnementaux capables de fournir des projections très précises.
