Final Report - EAGLE (Changes happening to our planet, analysed with remote sensing)

Project ID: 502057
Funded under: FP6-AEROSPACE

Abstract

This is the final activity report of EC-funded EAGLE project which sought to improve the accuracy of geophysical products derived from remote sensing to meet the requirements of the user communities. With a new generation of spectroradiometers capable of acquiring simultaneous multi-angle observations, it was possible to proposed improved algorithms and achieve significant improvements in the estimation of geophysical parameters used in modeling the water and carbon cycle as well as climate changes.

This report provides a brief overview of the experiments carried out in Spain, France and the Netherlands to collect field measurements with satellite and aircraft overpasses. The data collected during these experiments formed the basis for land surface temperature and vegetation map of Europe. It goes on to describe the methodology proposed for atmospheric corrections in the visible and infrared. A publications list of the written output of the project concludes the report.
