Final Report - U-BROAD (Ultra high bit rate over copper technologies for BROADband multi-service access)

Project ID: 506790
Funded under: FP6-IST

Abstract

European computer scientists have sought new ways of delivering broadband content over Ethernet-based networks that can quadruple the total bandwidth available to end users. To achieve this goal project partners are developing technology capable of providing fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) over existing telephone network copper cabling.

This final activity report provides an overview of the research work carried out during the U-broad project. The initiative developed the new and improved technologies, including state of the art signal processing and communications algorithms. These new techniques have been specifically designed to cope with the copper infrastructure of the telephone network.
