Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Successful dissemination and exploitation of results of EU-RTD projects is both in the interest of the project partners and serves the economic, technological and social benefits of industry and society. For many organisations, however, the successful completion of a EU-RTD project is just the first step towards a possible commercialisation and a detailed planning of the exploitation of the results obtained is necessary. It is for this reason that the Commission obliges partners in shared-cost EU-RTD projects to provide a Technology Implementation Plan at, or before, the end of the project.

To advance further in the exploitation process, e.g. from RTD to pilot stage to commercialisation, a number of hurdles have to be overcome (financial, legislative, marketing and distribution) and in most cases additional partners are necessary (RTD partners, venture financing partners, marketing and distribution partners, end-users etc.) which are not readily available. Dissemination of useful information in order to attract potential partners is thus of crucial importance during or at the end of the project phase. The Commission has set up both general and programme specific services to support this dissemination process.

The datasheets and guidelines of the Technology Implementation Plan have been designed in order to support the dissemination process whilst at the same time fulfilling your contractual obligations.
