A proper integration of innovation management techniques (IMTs) facilitates an entreprises ability to establish and integrate new technology in a coherent and non-disruptive manner, thus strengthening businesses - and particularly SMEs - long term business prospects. The projects on innovation management techniques promoted by the Innovation programme, 1994-1998, are intended to identify and spread good practices and strengthen the experience and professionalism of practitioners in this area.

These actions were selected following a specific call for proposals for the promotion of innovation management techniques, which was published in December 1995 and closed on 15 March 1996. Two types of projects were requested:

- Projects to strengthen the know-how of national and regional organisations, both in the public and private sectors, promoting IMTs;
- Accompanying measures fostering the transnational exchange of knowledge and methodological practice in the promotion and use of these techniques towards SMEs.

The pages of this document provide a status of selected IMT projects and accompanying measures most of which started at the beginning of 1997. They also include contact details.
