Periodic Report - IFNACTION (A system view on the differential activities of human type I interferons)

Project ID: 223608
Funded under: FP7-HEALTH

Type I interferons (IFNs) form a restricted network of highly related immune cytokines that elicit differential biological responses through a single cell surface receptor. The IFNACTION project, funded by the European Community, aimed to identify the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control the translation of receptor dynamics into different cellular responses through the implementation of combined biochemical, biophysical and genetic analysis of signalling outputs.

This periodic activity report summarises IFNACTION objectives and provides a schematic overview of its structure. Furthermore, the document refers to the results that were achieved by the various work packages (WPs) during the first 18 months of the project. Finally, the anticipated research impact and potential uses are highlighted and the IFNACTION website address is presented.
