Final Report - MIRT (Elucidation of a microRNA turnover machinery in C. elegans)
Project ID: 221062Funded under: FP7-PEOPLE
This is the final report for the MIRT project, currently microRNAs constitute a large class of genes that control diverse biological processes. Animal miRNAs repress their targets through an antisense mechanism, where they base-pair imperfectly with their target mRNAs, promoting translational repression and target degradation. This report summarises the final achievements. They have observed that miRNA targets can stabilise their cognate miRNAs in vitro, potentially permitting coordination of miRNA levels with abundance of their targets. The report includes images and a bibliography.
