Final Report - CEDER (Catch, Effort and Discard Estimates in Real-time)

Project ID: 22615
Funded under: FP6-POLICIES

The available innovative technologies could reduce uncertainties in human activities, which in turn influence the reliability of fish stocks' assessments and the efficiency of fisheries management advice. The EU-funded CEDER project aimed to harness new technologies in order to increase quality and synchronisation of fishing data, as well as to assess the benefits of improved information use in managing the sector.

This final activity report gives an overview of the project objectives and key findings. The data acquisition and processing is then analysed and the numerous developed tools are presented and commented. In addition, the document refers to parallel studies regarding fisheries' aspects. Finally, the structure of an improved data transmission system is outlined along with the benefits of such a system for all involved parties.
