Final Report - WOPER (Workshop for the analysis of the impact of perkinsosis on the European shellfish industry)

Project ID: 44442
Funded under: FP6-POLICIES

Perkinsosis is a lethal disease that affects commercial mollusc species and has significant economic impacts and consequences on international trade. Relevant knowledge in Europe remains scarce and fragmentary, even though significant progress is noted in North America.

The WOPER project, funded by the European Commission, aimed to produce the necessary knowledge and to address the threat of perkinsosis in the European shellfish industry through a workshop with participants representing different fields of expertise.

This final activity report provides an overview of the project objectives, presents the thematic areas which were analysed and summarises the conclusions of the workshop sessions. The document also refers to the actions that ensured the event organisation and completion and the successful dissemination of its results.
