Final Report - EU-DEEP (The birth of a EUropean Distributed EnErgy Partnership that will help the largescale implementation of distributed energy resources in Europe)

Project ID: 503516
Funded under: FP6-SUSTDEV

Abstract

This is the final results report of the EU-DEEP, which was a research and development project coordinated by GDF-SUEZ. It started in January 2004 and ended in June 2009 with a total budget close to EUR 30 million, half of it being provided by the European Commission under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). The single overarching goal of EU-DEEP was to design, develop and validate an innovative methodology, based on future energy market requirements, and able to produce innovative business solutions for enhanced distributed energy resources (DER) deployment in Europe by 2010.

The report begins with an introduction into core concepts on DER and the EU-DEEP project motivation. It later describes its objectives and structure. It then refers to the methodologies tested in the context of the project and the findings. Knowledge on the value of DER, integration practices and estimations follow. The business models studied are presented and also recommendations on future research. A glossary of terms and a more detailed presentation of the partners involved is the context of the final dedicated section.
