Abstract

This is the final report for the AGLAEA project which aimed to develop and characterise models of selective, partial knockdown of specific components of the brain glutamatergic system in mice. Beyond the initial plan and foreseen deliverables, in vitro system was developed for assessing the functional consequence on proteins knock-down. It was possible to show the consequence of altering the gene expression and its repercussions on protein level and function of one glutamate transporter.

The results presented in this report are important and as such they should help science to investigate the neurobiological and neurochemical bases of those diseases: short and mid-term and help society and health community to provide patients with better treatment: long-term.
