Final Report - DINAMIT (Development and innovation for advanced manufacturing of thermoplastics )

Project ID: 502831
Funded under: FP6-AEROSPACE

This is the final report for the DINAMIT project whose aim was to foster the widespread use of high-performance thermoplastic composites on aeronautical structures. Compared with thermoset resin systems, thermoplastic polymers have many advantages such as impact behaviour, fire resistance, low moisture absorption as well as welding capabilities while its production cost remains generally high compared with the corresponding one of the thermoset's polymer.

The work has been split in six technical work packages, namely new materials, new thermoplastic polymers (TP) processes for forming and consolidation of skins, new TPs processes for forming and consolidation of substructures, new thermoplastic assembly processes, validation of the developments as well as cost effective analysis.
