Project ID: 512153
Funded under: FP6-LIFESCIHEALTH

Abstract

This is the final report for the NHR DEVTOX project which received funding under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). Its main aim was to produce a prospective analysis of the mechanisms of Nuclear hormone receptors (NHR) and their potential as tools for the assessment of developmental toxicity and for the development of innovative non-animal testing methods.

The report covers a summary of the project's main aim, the aspects that should be considered in order to develop alternatives to animal assays and especially the role of NHR in the mechanism of developmental toxicity. It concludes with some recommending notes.
