This is the final report of the JAYHUN project, which aimed to ensure a sustainable future for the Aral basin that takes account of the rapid glacier melt that is taking place in the upper catchment and the rapid decline in reservoir storage capacity caused by siltation. The report begins with explaining the project's objectives and the background of motivation, as incurred by the water availability and storage capacity issues of the basin under study. There is later a more detailed presentation of the project's structure into work packages, describing the objectives, the work performed and the findings. Finally, there is a section on the knowledge use and dissemination plan.
