Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This guide provides guidance for organizations considering making a proposal for an SME Exploratory Award in the IT programme. This is a non-domain specific preparatory action (see task 0.1 of the ESPRIT Work Programme). The guide forms one part of the Information Technologies programme Information Package. The guide needs to be used together with the ESPRIT Work Programme, published separately, which outlines the technical coverage and priority research and development themes for the programme.
SME Exploratory Awards are designed to encourage and facilitate the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the RTD of the ESPRIT programme. The scheme is set up for SMEs in response to their growing interest and need to participate in RTD cooperation at the European level. Exploratory Awards help cover the costs of preparing a full proposal for an industrial RTD project (see Industrial RTD Projects: Guide for proposers) or a Cooperative Research Project (see Cooperative Research-IT: Guide for proposers).
