Final Report - RETINA (Reliable, tuneable and inexpensive antennas by collective fabrication processes)

Project ID: 516121
Funded under: FP6-AEROSPACE

This is the final report for the RETINA project which received funding under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6). Its ultimate aim was to develop a reliable and low-cost solution for electrical beam steering in Ku band on-board mobile platforms by implementing phase shifting technologies such as Radio frequency (RF) Microelectrochemical systems (MEMS) and high-power handling ferroelectric materials.

The report begins with providing some background information about currently existing aeronautical broadband services and goes on with stating the aim and the main objectives of the project. It covers the technologies and methods adopted and then it provides a detailed description of the work performed. The report also covers the conclusions from the work performed, the project consortium and concludes with the dissemination activities.
