Final Report - GENE-RAD RISK (Radiation exposures at an early age: Impact of genotype on breast cancer risk)

Project ID: 12926

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and a leading cause of cancer death for women worldwide. Among the known risk factors for breast cancer are genetic susceptibility and exposure to ionising radiation.

The GENE-RAD-RISK project was funded by the European Commission and aimed to conduct an epidemiological study on the role of radiation exposure in breast cancer, as well as to study the possible modifying effects of other risk factors, including therapies other than radiation.

This final activity report presents the project consortium and provides an overview of the GENE-RAD-RISK objectives. Moreover, it refers to the undertaken activities and summarises the obtained research results. Finally, it highlights the dissemination and potential exploitation of the project outcomes.
