Final Report - BRAFO (A specific support action to investigate the risk benefit analysis for foods)

Project ID: 31731
Funded under: FP6-FOOD

As the burden of health costs within society increases due to a longer lifespan, balanced nutrition can assist in disease prevention. It is therefore vital to propose a strategy for a holistic analysis of the net health impact of chemicals in food.

The EU-funded BRAFO project aimed to develop a framework to allow for the quantitative comparison of human health risks and benefits of foods and food compounds based on a common scale of measurement.

This final activity report provides an overview of the BRAFO objectives and analyses the undertaken activities and the project case studies. The document then refers to the potential impact and the dissemination of BRAFO findings, and closes with a presentation of the consortium participants.
