Final Report - RISC-RAD (Radiosensitivity of Individuals and Susceptibility to Cancer induced by ionizing Radiations)

Project ID: 508842

RISC-RAD was a fundamental research project in the field of radiobiology, funded by the European Commission in the framework of Euratom, a dedicated programme supporting research in the nuclear sector. It was a consortium of 36 European partner labs that focused their efforts on radiation cancer risk and covered a wide range of scientific expertise from basic radiobiology through to cancer risk modelling. Knowledge gained within the project helped to assess the risk associated with exposure to low doses of radiation.

The final report of RISC-RAD provides an overview of the scientific progress made and a broad evaluation of how RISC-RAD project members considered the new evidence impacts on approaches to estimating human radiation cancer risk. Through various sections, it also highlights where the project findings had added to the evidence base for setting of radiation protection standards.
