Periodic Management Report - LYCOCARD (Role of lycopene for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases)

Project ID: 16213
Funded under: FP6-FOOD

Abstract

This is the periodic management report of the LYCOCARD project, funded under the European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) within the thematic priority 'Food Quality and Safety'. LYCOCARD investigated the role of lycopene - a plant pigment found in high concentration in tomato, pink grapefruit, watermelon, and papaya - in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, adopting a 'total food chain' approach by addressing each link in a 'farm to fork' approach for future projects to increase the understanding of diet and health.

The report provides a brief description of work performed and explanatory notes on major cost items and also financial statements per activity for the contractual reporting period and a total summary of the financial report.
