Abstract

This revised edition for the FUSE call continuously open from 15 March 1996 and initially closing on 16 September 1996 further specifies the conditions for participation and the evaluation criteria, and gives a new address for submission.

The First Users Action (FUSE) is identified in the 1996 Work Programme of the Information Technologies programme in task 2.26 as follows:

"Stimulating the access of small and medium sized enterprises to the use of technologies for electronic systems and microsystems, in the context of an action for first users. The aim is to support projects devised by individual companies, acting alone or in collaboration with service providers of their own choosing. The duration of individual projects is expected to be of the order of one year. To facilitate later exploitation of the results, the projects should be in line with the primary products of enterprises."

It should be noted that although this action is oriented towards SMEs, it is not exclusively reserved for SMEs. Submissions from larger companies are also eligible provided they fulfil the conditions laid down. This specific information document provides this detailed specification. It is intended to aid organizations which are planning to submit an activity as part of FUSE in response to a call for proposals issued under the Specific Programme for Research and Technological Development (RTD) in the field of Information Technologies.
