Promoting Innovation Management Techniques in Europe - Progress achieved by the Innovation Programme of the European Community - Assessment and scope of further actions

Funded under: FP5-INNOVATION-SME

Abstract

In 1996, the European Commission launched a series of projects to promote Innovation Management Techniques. In this respect, IMTs were considered to be methodological approaches for improving the competitive position of firms through innovation.

In order to be promoted, IMTs must have been tested in SMEs and available to firms internally or through specialised external advisors (e.g., enterprise consultants).

This document has been drafted by Erdyn Consultants, a French technology management consulting firm, who has carried out an external assessment of this initiative in order to review the results achieved and to propose a renewed foundation for possible future schemes/actions in this field.
