Final Report - FRIDA (Fostering Regional Innovation and Development through Anchors and Networks: A Cross Regional Comparison in an Evolving International Context)

Project ID: 225546
Funded under: FP7-SSH

Abstract

This is the final summary report of the FRIDA project, funded under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Thinking local and global at the same time is an imperative for both anchor firms and for policy makers. FRIDA confirmed that anchors can emerge in virtually any industrial setting, including those that may be considered mature or ‘un-innovative’. The project highlights the anchor’s role as visionary orchestrator, triggering entrepreneurship and operating in local, national and global networks. The document presents the project context and objectives while discussing the results achieved and their potential impact and use. Dissemination activities are reported.
