Final Report - UMBRELLA (Using microbes for the regulation of heavy metal mobility at ecosystem and landscape scale: An integrative approach for soil remediation by geobiological processes)

Project ID: 226870
Funded under: FP7-ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

The overall goal of the UMBRELLA project, which was funded under the European Union's (EU) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), was to use microorganisms to develop cost-efficient and sustainable measures for soil remediation at heavy metal contaminated sites throughout Europe.

This final activity report summarises the project context and objectives and analyses the activities that were undertaken by the various work packages (WPs) along with the results that were obtained. Moreover, it lists the guidelines that were formulated for integrated soil and water protection acts. Finally, the document closes with an overview of the potential impact of the project findings.
