This is the final summary report of DEER, funded under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). DEER's objectives were to investigate connections between normal and abnormal fetal and neonatal reproductive development and subsequent maturation of reproductive function at puberty and in adulthood, systemic gene-environment interactions underlying reproductive disorders, taking into account genetic susceptibility and multiple exposures, and connection between perinatal development and metabolic disorders in later life (obesity).

The document describes in detail the outcomes of the project under its four research themes and discusses the results achieved.
