Final Report - CLIMATECOST (Full costs of climate change)

Project ID: 212774
Funded under: FP7-ENVIRONMENT

Abstract

This is the final report for the CLIMATECOST project, which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). CLIMATECOST was a major research project on the economics of climate change. It quantified in physical terms, and valued as economic costs the effects of future climate change (the 'costs of inaction') under different scenarios for the European Union and other major negotiator countries (China, India). The project breaks down into three different project categories, namely:

- scenarios to policy;
- impact and adaptation;
- mitigation and ancillary benefits.

The report starts with an executive summary highlighting the main objectives and focus areas of the project. It goes further outlining the seven tasks set out to address the project objectives. It then covers the main scientific and technological results which relate to the seven planned tasks and closes with an overview of the potential impact, as well as the main dissemination activities and the exploitation of results.
