Project Sheet - COCANCPG (Co-Ordination of Cancer Clinical Practise Guidelines Research in Europe)
Project ID: 3239Funded under: FP6-COORDINATION
This is the project sheet from the COCANCPG project. Clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) assist doctors and patients to select the best approach for each case, and are a key mechanism for the transfer and spread of the latest information on best practice in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The quality and effectiveness of Europe's cancer care varies widely between regions. CPGs could help, but are currently developed and applied at regional or national level, without formal international collaboration. COCANCPG hoped to bring different countries together to prepare for an ERA-NET Coordination Action project that would establish full transnational programme coordination in the field of cancer CPGs research. By providing a platform for co-operation between programme funders and managers, COCANCPG hopes to put Europe on the path to ensuring equal access to high-quality cancer care for all its citizens.
