Project ID: 218460
Funded under: FP7-SME

The malting barley industry, from farm to glass, is an important contributor to the European Union (EU) economy providing countless jobs; however the sector needs tools for process control and quality assessment in order to better manage quality during the different phases of the production process.

Therefore, the OPTIMALT project, which was funded under the European Commission's (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), aimed to develop an affordable, reliable on-line tool for the rapid monitoring of malting quality parameters using automated optical analysis.

This factsheet summarises critical project information. It firstly presents the consortium participants and then provides an abstract of the OPTIMALT context and objectives. Finally, the document includes the project's website address.
