Periodic Report - PLANTFOODSEC (Plant and food biosecurity)

Project ID: 261752
Funded under: FP7-SECURITY

Agricultural bioterrorism (agroterrorism) is the deliberate introduction of an animal, plant disease or pest with the goal of generating fear, causing economic losses and undermining stability.

The 'PLANTFOODSEC' project, which was funded by the European Community (EC), aimed to build a virtual centre of competence to support plant and food biosecurity training and research in Europe, thus enhancing the preparedness and response capabilities of the sector.

This leaflet firstly outlines the project context and then highlights its major objectives. It also summarises the most significant aspects of the various work packages (WPs) and refers to the anticipated end results and their potential exploitation. Finally, the document provides a list of the contact details of the PLANTFOODSEC participants.
