Final Report - RELHY (Innovative solid oxide electrolyser stacks for efficient and reliable hydrogen production)

Project ID: 213009
Funded under: FP7-ENERGY

This is the final report for the RELHY project which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). RELHY targeted the development of novel or improved, low-cost materials for their integration in efficient and durable components for the next generation of electrolysers based on solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs). The main challenge addressed was to simultaneous achieve a defined lifetime and efficiency.

The report includes an executive summary providing a general overview of the project and goes on further explaining the project concept. During the first year a common protocol including the methodology for characterisation of cell performance and degradation was created while in the second year focus was laid on the evaluation of potential second-generation SOECs. In the last year the material optimisation and processing task was finalised. The report covers in detail the work performed in these three phases and closes with an overview of the results' potential impact as well as the dissemination activities.
