Abstract

This is the final report for the RE-ROAD project which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Its general aim was to develop knowledge and innovative technologies for enhanced end-of-life strategies for asphalt road infrastructures. The report starts with an executive summary providing a general overview of the project and goes on further introducing its context and the lines it followed to determine an end-of-life strategy. The report also presents the results obtained from the reclaimed asphalt (RA) sample and characterisation procedures, the laboratory performance - mix design - field validation, the RA lifecycle assessment as well as the production, handling and the introduction of RA in the mixing process. It closes with a brief overview of the project impact and then covers the dissemination activities.
