This is the final publishable summary report of the ADDSAFE project which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Its overall aim was to research and develop model-based fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) methods for aircraft flight control systems faults, predominantly for sensor and actuator malfunctions.

In the introductory part, the report provides some background information about the FDD approach including a schematic illustration of the fault diagnosis bottleneck concept before moving on to describe in further detail its main objectives and the specific objectives of each work package (WP). It also includes snapshots from the project meetings as well as an illustration of the work package structure. In the next section the report presents the results of the activities undertaken during the first and second phase. It closes with some concluding remarks and recommendations.
