Final Report - NOTEREFIGA (Novel temperature regulating fibres and garments)

Project ID: 203831
Funded under: FP7-NMP

Abstract

This is the final report for the THOR project which received funding under the European Commission (EC)'s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). NOTEREFIGA's main aim was to develop novel temperature regulating fibres and innovative textile products for thermal management. This would be realised by incorporating large amounts of phase changing materials (PCMs) in textile fibres. The report begins with an executive summary providing a general overview of the project and then further describes the project context and objectives. PCMs can be integrated into textile fibres either by means of melt spun bi-component fibres with a sheath / core structure or by using solution spun cellulosic fibres with a dispersed PCM phase. The report covers the results concerning both technologies. Finally, it discusses the project impact and the dissemination activities. Attached is also the summary report of the project.
