This is the final report of the ADSEAT project which received funding under the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The overall objective of the project was to improve seat design to reduce whiplash injury and focus on an innovative adjustable adaptive seat design that can provide benefit for both male and female occupants. The first introductory chapters provide general information on car related injuries and whiplash in particular. At the heart of the project is a description of the results achieved by the project. In summary, the results of ADSEAT have contributed to the technological foundation in the area of biomechanics of user diversity by developing the first ever dynamic response corridors of females from low severity rear impacts.
