Final Report - BRIGHTANIMAL (Multidisciplinary approach to practical and acceptable precision livestock farming for SMEs in Europe and world-wide)

Project ID: 227138
Funded under: FP7-KBBE

Abstract

Livestock farming has a major role to play in the years to come, while new challenges are imposed to the farmers. Precision livestock farming (PLF) aims to connect farmers with individual animals or small animal groups, in spite of growing intensification.

In this context, the 'BRIGHTANIMAL' project, which was funded by the European Community (EC), aimed to identify practical and acceptable PLF practices, mainly focussing on small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

This final Report firstly outlines the project context and objectives and then refers to the implemented work strategy. It also presents the scientific and technical results that were obtained. Finally, the document closes with a brief overview of the potential impact of the project findings.
